Amazon

This is the lodge we were staying in when we went to the amazon. We had the only 2 storey lodge in the place. We had our own private bathroom! A lot nicer than what we were execting. When we left home we thought we would be in tents and stuff. We had 3 course meals for lunch and dinner, soup, mains and dessert with fresh juices with every meal!!!

This is our group from the amazon. behind the telescope there is a girl! For some reason our guide did not want to have her face in the picture. from then on she was known as telescope head!

The first night we were there we went out for a night walk through the jungle. As expected me and abz started messing around and scaring people. This is a picture right before abz scared the life of the 6ft belgium dude in the red! i have never seen anyone so big spin around so fast!

The first tarantula we saw in the amazon, and it had to be at night! This is me with the guide and one of the other guys, jacob, from our group.

The first memebers of the tribe, this ones for you alpa!

We did a lot of walking through the jungle, and as you can see it was good that they provided us with wellington boots!
And this was not the worst part of the mud. at some points it covered the whole boot!

Our group under the biggest tree in the world!

We went to an indigenous village and we met the shaman. he is the doctor of the village. all medicines they use are natural and he knows over 500 different medicinal plants!

Abz.

Everyday before dinner we would go out to the lagoon to watch the sunset and swim in the lagoon. Absolutely amazing!

The group we were with all did a 3 night 4 day tour of the amazon, but i convinced abz we needed an extra day. unfortunately on the last day they didnt have a motorised boat for us so we had to paddle anywhere we wanted to go. Luckily though with the paddle boat we are allowed to go places the motor boat wasnt.

On the hunt for anacondas!
